Skin tags are soft, tender pouches of skin that hang from the skin surface. They are most commonly found around the neck, armpits, groin, as well as under the breasts, on the eyelids or cheeks. They can occur in singles or multiples, and are sometimes mistaken for moles or warts. Skin tags can often become irritated, inflamed or infected, leading to swelling, redness and pain.

Our plastic surgeons are experienced in diagnosing and treating skin tags, moles and warts – it is important to distinguish between the different skin lesions, as they may require a different course of treatment. The techniques used to remove the skin tags are determined by many factors, including the size and location of the skin tags, as well as the potential for scarring. These can be discussed with our doctors in greater detail in your consultation, where the best treatment options will be provided.
